Meet Katie!

Handstand: What is your training and instructing style?

Katie: My yoga teaching style is centered around finding accessible challenge! I love to teach EVERYONE - whether you've never done yoga  or you're a seasoned practitioner, whether you're 20 or 80, whether you're an athlete or a self proclaimed coach potato - everyone can connect first to breath, and then to your physical body! I love that every day you can be exploring something new - physically, mentally, and emotionally.

My style is peppy and upbeat - getting you out of your head and into your body. I have tons of energy to share, and I love to inspire my students to work towards being the best version of themselves. I'm 500 hour trained in Modo Yoga and 300 hour trained in Modo Flow - so I teach both hatha and vinyasa style yoga. 

Handstand: What is your favorite motivational quote?

Katie:

I'm a very passionate person, and I absolutely love what I do! I want to inspire everyone to feel this way about all aspects of their lives. 

Handstand: What is your favorite workout and why?

Yoga of course! I practice yoga every day and never get bored - taking the approach of a "beginner's mind" allows me to see each practice as a chance to learn something new about myself. Yoga connects my mind, body, and soul - being just as much of a mental detox as it is a physical exercise. 

I also love to hike, surf, bike, and will pop into Soul Cycle a few times a week because I love the community vibe and the amazing energy!

Handstand: What makes you human? 

Katie:

I am a huge advocate for self care. I love acupuncture, chiropractic work and energy healing,  The Den Meditation is my secret haven for getting even more grounded in this crazy busy and fast-paced city.

My guilty pleasure is taking long baths almost daily and getting a massage every week - it might seem a bit excessive, but I absolutely love it! The Now is AMAZING - if you haven't been GO!
