My favorite thing to do when I meet a new Handstand User:
I approach life with love, nurturing and happiness so the first thing I do is welcome you with warmth whether it be with a smile, handshake or hug! Love for self and others is universal and your practice is about letting go! An inviting practice releases endorphins which allows me to better create an tailored practice for you based on your needs for that day, in that moment…because every day is different.
Your practice won’t likely be easy, but the goal is to learn how to sweat with a smile ☺
My favorite snack:
After a good yoga or surf session, if I’m feeling salty I bake some super yum almond meal flax Parmesan crackers. If I’m feeling sweet, a smoothie with almond milk, coconut, raw almond butter, banana, raw cacao powder!
A Notable Fitness Story:
Every BODY is different!
I’m a stickler with form and keeping the body aligned in order to prevent injury and so my students can learn to communicate properly with their bodies. One of my favorite memories was when I was guiding a student through a properly aligned down dog. After 5 minutes of “tweaking” her form, she puts her knees down, looks up at me and says “Oh my god, Yoga is hard”. I simply replied with a smile “Yes darling, yoga is challenging but mostly it’s AMAZING. Welcome to your body.”
